The Future of Atlanta’s Gathering Place

For over 120 years, Piedmont Park has been Atlanta’s greatest gathering place, with a deep cultural and physical history closely tied to the city. Today, defining a vision for the future of Atlanta’s signature public space is critical, preparing the park to adapt to the growth and development of 21st century Atlanta.

As the Piedmont Park Conservancy celebrates its 35^th Anniversary, in partnership with the City of Atlanta, we are excited to develop a new Piedmont Park Comprehensive Plan, intended to guide the evolution of the park for decades to come. This new Comprehensive Plan is a group project, seeking to reflect the needs and desires of every Atlantan as we pursue a park—and city—reflective of Dr. King’s vision of a Beloved Community.
